«1st Impression: I saw the screen shot and said "This looks interesting" and shades of Wyle E. Coyote was it ever. The number of ideas implemented in this film was staggering, and in true WB fashion were all failures. The simplicity of the line drawing worked perfectly for this film, the addition of color near the end really healped to drive home the point.
Overall: Expressed simply and in a straightforward manner, told with a good amount of humor and -- at the end -- pathos. It put across -- for me, at least -- the idea that the best gift given is the one that was hardest to obtain, however simplistic it may seem on the outside.»
«What Mac said. Just lacked a certain wolf getting a rock dropped on his head. Cest la vie. Keep striving for that flower.»
«Aw that was cute! I really liked the character design for the little stick man and he was really well animated for the most part which gave him lots of personality. I liked the juxtaposition of black and white and colour as well (although I'm not super clear on what it added story-wise - it just looked cool!). The story was very easy to follow and had a nice clear arc that made sense, and there were no words used at all minus the credits. My only minor gripes were that the repeated "idea" animation got a little old after a few reps, and in general some shots felt a little slow, as if maybe the movie was stretched out a tad to fit the time limit? Overall though it was a fun piece with buckets of charm. This one is a really strong contender
