«Bravo for your film. I hello tone works for the movements of will be on drugs, even this my English is very limited, I liked a lot the history(story). A last very good moment.»
Sins of The West
«A very good tribute to a great man.
The music -- fit the moods perfectly and sounded like a Sergio film.
The editing - good work, especially on the screen effects for the flashbacks/memories. The color change really enhanced it.
The storyline -- a man's search for revenge also helps others.
Although subtitles can enhance a film, I wish this one had voices. That would have put this film over the top.
Sergio Leone truly brought westerns to life with a view unmatched still today. A fitting tribute.»
«Good Movie, I watched the whole thing. There are many things wrong with this but still its on the right track.
The music is good at times. At others is seems way out of place. Distracting from the scene instead of focusing it.
The subtitles had a few errors. Nothing much.
The story was a little fast. People dieing that I didn't even really know. Like the woman. She was on screen for about 15 seconds. Then the jailbreak out. Just lets do it then its done. I know with the movies it just rushes itself sometimes. Try pacing a story when you film it also when you write it. You will notice a huge difference in your films quality.
You've got a nice start on making some great movies. With some fine tuning you can make some 5 star MASTERPIECES»
Nearly a classy spaghetti Western. The music was good, but ultimately harmed the film in a brand new way I've never imagined before! (read on)
There came a moment in the film where the hero goes to sleep and has a nightmare - because the music remained the same before and afterwards, I thought we were still in the nightmare - when we had in fact moved to the present again. I ended up thinking we were still in flashback first time around (I rewinded later), solely because of the music.
The music, from the start, was good stuff, but it was used as sonic wallpaper going over multiple scenes at a time regardless of mood (setting/enhancing mood is the primary purpose for putting music in any film in the first place). The tracks were entirely appropriate for a western, but not used judiciously in the context of the mood of each scene.
The story was nothing new but, botched as it was, the dramatic beats and pacing were well timed.
The ending wasn't. It just happened all too easily ("we need to break our brother out of prison" - which they do immediately without a single explanatory frame of how they managed it).
The final gunfight seemed put in at random. It came from seemingly nowhere (did I miss something?)
So - in summary - all the right elements were there for a good western film, but not quite glued together right for me.»
«Spaghetti Western at it's best. I loved the use of music, very few do what you've demonstrated by using it appropriately. This added so much authenticity to the film, mixing visual, sound and subtitles. I would LOVE to see a VO remake. There is so much VO talent on here, you can't go wrong :-)
Nuke Well in the West!»
«A really good Spaghetti western, would of been even better with VOs but overall it was fantastic, a true tribute to Mr Leone. maybe you should re-make it with VOs, don't remake the whole movie but just add VOs in, try and set up a casting call, because I'd audition for this!
***** - 5 Stars»
«Sins of the West is a nice tribute film to Sergio Leone. Great camera work and a powerful music score make this film stand out. While VO would have helped, the simple dialogue through subtitles works effectively. This has a nice, straight-forward story but could have used more of build up between Hunter and Jack leading to the climatic gunfight.
Overall this is very entertaining and a strong Western entry to TMUnderground. Continued success! »
«I definitely agree with all the other reviews in the absolutely perfect use of music throughout this film. You edited and placed the music so exquisitely, it felt like it was custom-composed just for this film. Brilliant job there. The story, though standard spaghetti western fare, was wonderfully-presented with greast pacing, visuals, and narrative style. I did have a problem with a few transitions though; when the Hunter sneaked up behind Billy and Billy surrendered, the next scene cut to a fisticuffs sequence. How did Billy disarm the Hunter? The finale battle could've used more of a buildup as well (possibly with the Hunter and Jack having a final chat before the shootout). Still, all-in-all, this was an entertaining film! Thanks for the invite.»
«A simple story of vengeance, but yet an entertaining one. The first thing I have to say is the music fits well into the movie. The camera work was fine and the mods are good, though some credit on the music & mods should be listed. An entertaining spaghetti western it was.
«A fun little spaghetti western that never fails to entertain. Some nice camera work and great usage of mods. The music was excellent and suited the film very well. A simple story, yes, but it doesn't need to be anything more in this case. A fun, memorable film that reminded me somewhat of Kill Bill. Good job!
