«Great work here, raven! Short, suspenseful, and creepy. Great VO performances by your actors, great shots, and I loved how you edited that TV/Shower switch off. Like others said, ending it with the lady reading the letter and the sound of the door opening would have been a perfect ending, but overall, it's a well-shot, suspenseful work. Great use of music too.»
«Very interesting short here. I liked the editing and the camera work and the voice actors your chose for this film did a pretty good job.
I liked the tension and build up, but I'm afraid that near the end it fell kinda flat. I was actually hoping for a little more development.
But like others have said, great job on the sound, camera work and lighting. »
«I really liked the TV/Shower switch-off scene and the editing with man disappearing was pretty neat. The ending kinda killed the mood but everything else was great. Hope to see 666 Oak Street soon! But as with that too, outside editing would do nice sound effects-wise. Great work!»
«Hey that was pretty cool Raven! The very last shot killed the "mysterious" for me though. Just saying "your next" and cut to credits would have left me with a bigger smile on my face, but meh its all good. Good pace and slick editing. Some of the sound design was a bit off for me.
Overall, pretty damn cool.»
«Camera work and sound editing were great.
You have great editing skills, man
and the mood you've created was also nice.
As well as all the VAs.
But like others said, the in game sounds and
a plot problem were the only minors for me.
After all, its a nice little horror you got here
«Thanks for all the comments, folks. Glad to see everyone enjoyed the camera/editing aspect of the film - that's mainly what I was trying to go for, more than motives, etc.
I realize some of the in-game sounds are a little corny and overused by now (I wish I could have gotten rid of the snoring noise) but turning off the sound effects altogether would have led to the scene where it alternates between shower/TV being totally messed up (I'm pretty sure there's no in-game sound for switching TV channels or shower), so in the end I decided to go with the noises we've all been used to.
Again, thanks for all the comments.»
«Yeah, I'm going pretty much with what the others have already said. Great camerawork, some nice shots here, and inventive use of the in-game scenes. I particularly liked the shot of the mysterious man disappearing, very well done. The music selection was great too, well placed and perfectly suited to the film's mood. I thought Orky and Bella's performances were great, nothing to complain about there. The editing at times was also very impressive. For example, the scene where it cut between the wife in the shower and the tv remote being pressed, cutting faster and faster building up to the knock on the door. Great way to create tension
In terms of improvement, yeah, the in-game sound effects were a little distracting. Always best to do all the sound editing in an outside editor. You can get better sound effects that way anyway, and you get more control over where they're placed and how they sound. Also, I think there needed to be just a little more explanation of what was happening, what the killer's motives were, etc, and slightly more character development for the husband and wife.
Overall, for a short movie this was very well done. I enjoyed being a part of it and thought the visuals were excellent. Well done and keep on filming

«Visually its pretty good, but I have to agree with thebiz about the sound effects such as the door, kiss and the effect on my voice to make it 'deeper' sounds unnatural at times(to me anyway). The ending left me wondering what the killer's motive was, but not in a bad way, guess it leaves it open to interpretation. =)»
«Theres some pretty good stuff here including snazzy camera and editing work. Most of the sound was fine but a few in game sounds (the creaky door, kiss and bed creaks) killed the mood a little for me. Vos were excellent. So much unexplained doesnt bother me so much as the lack of decision as to whether this is a creepy supernatural kind of thing or a crime/action/thriller kind of thing. It was well done and held my attention rapt for 4 minutes so its definnitely a winner in my book.»
