«nice, I like the comic book effects, nice touch»
Why so Serious
«i want to say why i said what i said in my previous comment.
i do know that chris is one of the best directors ive seen mature over the years i've known him.
yes i do know sl i was in there with chris and mac and eastman and wytch.. because we started to make a movie in sl.. which i would have said was one of his best works ever.. for his first try at sl movie making. but unfortunately the edits got destroyed when macs hard drive disintigrated. so do know how hard it is to film in sl.. because i was part of it.
i stick by what i said.. because chris doesnt need music vid's to prove himself
p.s and yes norrie cowdown is a word widely used in uk.»
«I thought this was great Chris! I agree with Norrie, making a music video is one of the best ways to get to grips with a new medium and I think this not only did its job as a tech demo but also came across as pretty entertaining too.
There were one or two moments where you maybe lingered on the same shot for too long (for example, the why so serious speech in the middle), but overall I thought this was well done, especially for your first real foray into SL filmmaking... I know how difficult it is and all things considered you did really well. Just watch for the edge of the set (the scene with batman on the rooftops) and next time try to make sure your mouse is out of the shot.
Overall though an excellent effort and great to see you expanding your horizons. I'm really glad to see you're back to your productive best again since I really enjoy watching your stuff. Kinda inspires me to do the same. Great job! »
«Yikes! Seems like someone can't separate their SL experience from a video someone else made!
Mind you, who knew "cowdown" was a word?
Criticising someone for doing a music video in a new medium is as ludicrous as it gets... it's by far the best way to get to grips with anything new.
I do, however, have a couple of crits of my own: (not knowing who made what in SL)
Some of the texturing was a bit weird: you had one perfectly scaled brick wall opposite a very scaled up grungy texture on the other. There was also a vertical grass lawn that looked odd.
Batman had lots of definition from the front, but looked very 2D from behind. Almost like a silhouette.
And, like all of your stuff, you need to tighten the editing. But that seems like preaching to the choir »
«I agree Steven but to learn filming in sl you have to start some where and i will be making a film in sl these year.
i created the joker in the music vid and i will be putting together cheaters for the movie problem filming in sl is getting enough actors to work with u on a full length movie. »
«sorry chris but not one of your best works....to be honest i found it dull..
couldnt see the point of the action.. no depth.. no real story to the music
and for the 1st time ive known you i am giving you a 1 star because i know you are capable of better even in SL bro.. please dont cowdown to the rest of the SL music video lot.. make proper machinima like you said you was going to »
