«Wow, what a great way to start off a series! Loved that nice long battle sequence (the music really worked!). Looking forward to seeing more of this universe and learning more about the players. »
The Outland - Freeport 7
«The effects were really cool, but i found solace in the sound. The audio quality was amazing, very clear and on point. Good storyline, can't wait for some characters and plots to be introduced in the future. One minor thing was you couldve made the space battle. more fast paced but it was still dope, esp. the ship imploding into a million pieces. I'll keep up dude , great production.
«Very nice; lovely visuals, great sound and very clever use of the assets to add to your own story. I have to say one minor niggle was the (in my opinion) slightly overlong shots of the capital ship battle, but that's just a quibble. Definately watching for the next one of these!»
«Hi Del. I appreciate the comments but I dont appreciate being told I've copied a story closey when I haven't. You write as though my using freelancer is a revelation when its clearly stated in the credits.
The story I'm telling is not the freelancer story. All I did was match the story names to the audio assets... which again are clearly credited and therefore I thought most people would understand that. I doubt there are very few gamers out there that have not heard of these names. »
«I recognised a lot of the stuff from the Freelancer (music/voice overs/effects/names for the places - Freeport 7, New Manhatten, Liberty police force etc). Story wise you seem to be copying it quite closely, but with your own added twist, which is interesting. I loved the visuals you had going, thought it was exceptionally well done. My only issue was how slow the battle between the capital ships went. There was little sense of urgency and it felt like it dragged on a bit. I think you were trying to put across that they were slow moving and powerful, but you probably needed to cut to the fast moving battle more often and didn't need to overstate the capital ships lumbering movements.
A very good pilot.»
«Ah, one last point (sorry I forgot). The sound work was interesting, avoiding specific sounds and just using general radio chatter. This was mostly effective (though it was less effective the longer it went on) as the battles were epic in scale and mostly in long shot. I thought the hangar scene (a much more specific scene than the battle scenes) could have used some specific sounds (the ship leaving the hangar) to draw the audience in. The alien commander (at the end) overshadowed the rest of the characters with his voice and his look was phenomenal. Laser sounds were very good.
Ok, I'm done. Good work here.»
«Intro was nice, giving us all the info we needed in a short time (though the teaser helped out a lot in my case) to loosely set up the world this exists in. I would have perhaps have liked a bit more screen time with the ship commanders before the battle starts to make them people instead of avatars.
Space battle was at times excellent and at times plodding. Great effects in the flying formations and the exploding parts. The early exploding parts scenes were long shotted away leaving me squinting to see the effects (closer please) but there were some very effective shots in the destruction of the good guy(?) ship. The size of the command ships made their movements slow but the editing could have inter-cut more interior scenes of the commanders in battle and their reaction s to their success and failure (a la a star trek battle) to ramp up the intensity.
Ending had me wondering why the media thinks it may have been an accident when there were survivors who had obviously seen the battle that raged on. Absolutely loved that last shot of the woman in space. Effective and chilling.
Overall this worked very well for me. Innovative effects, nice cliffhanger ending. I'm amped up for the next part.»
«wow, amazing. involving moments of great fx's, I am just trying to imagine how difficult it is the scene of space battle war with lots of tiny ships fighting. The high details are impressive (I just felt I were on a cinema watching a lucas movie).Do you have post or review talking about "Strazi frontier"? It would be interesting to know more about this "universe".
my 10/10!! Enjoyable»
