«Brilliant work, very Kubrick-esque. Kind of like A Clockwork Orange, but with less wacky, vibrant imagery and dialogue you can barely understand. A very well directed piece, the silhouette shots especially caught my eye, they added quite well to the suspense. Thumbs up from me! »
«This is over 108 days old? How did I miss it? Oh well, glad I finally got to see it!
A technically beautiful and near flawless production. Lovely camera work (the camera was a character in itself... probably the best one of the film). Superb VO work. Great musical choices.
The biggest negative for me was the Clockwork Orange references Not a fan of that film at all (that's my problem, not yours... lol) But otherwise the only thing I could point out was some of the shading/shadows were glitchy (which I have seen in many MS films, so I assume it's a bug).
Terrific stuff. Wish it was longer (or had more instalments...?)
And congrats on the Bitfilm nod!»
«wow. i read a clockwork orange when i was too young to understand it. i reread it later in life and said, oh, that's what it was about. kubrick blew the ending, a common thread in many of his movies. (witness how he destroyed the shining.) anyway, back to this. based on that very early cyber-punk (without the cyber) vision of the future classic. you've twisted it around and turned it on its head. incredible work by you and as a treat a little 'sisch' to tantalize us.
anthony burgess would be proud. kubrick would be jealous.»
«Beautiful! I'm not referring just to the visuals, but also the theme, presentation, message, the whole lot. What animation program did you use--Moviestorm? Whatever it was, it was gorgeoous (just loved those shadows). I especially enjoyed your portrayal of the government men merely as faceless shadows on the wall. Brilliant direction. Above all, I loved your message; if you ignore your rights long enough, they'll go away.»
«wow..where the heck have you been hiding..this was really something...outstanding visuals, amazing execution and some fantastic dialog..very much liked the look and feel of the opening as well as the dark lighting used throughout and the pacing was solid too.
really interested in seeing more from you»
«An exceptional piece of art.
Ive watched this three times now and keep catching something new.
Excellent visual set up throughout he opening credits unfold the story so beautifully. Wonderful camera angles such as the silhoouette conversation and meaningful lit close ups are very cool. Well played voice talents that not only sold the characters, but their performances really pulled the film together. Great tunes that married the mood of the scenes. Great to here Sisch's singing again. The script is a cleaver adaption, short and sweet, but still captures all the essential elements.
The bar has been raised!
I am truly in awe.
«This was a spectacular film! CLOCKWORK is a gritty alternative reality dystopian film with a very strong ambience which follows you for some time even after the film is completed. Brilliantly written, carefully filmed, and with skilled actors, this is a film that should NOT be missed!
