Sting of the Scorpion: Part One
«I have to say this is the best in the series yet. The battles seem scripted and are truly integrated into the film now. I really appreciated the battle chatter--it's realistic and further draws the viewer into this universe. The story is good, too, but I have to admit I come for the mech battles LOL. Looking forward to seeing how this vengeance plot plays out (and more engaging mechwarrior combat).»
«I believe I left my review at the forum, so I'll be brief here. What I liked the most here was the introduction of this character, her like of Ivan, and then her transformation after being rejected. This made it incredibly interesting to me. Very well played, Ivan ol' man!
«Beware a woman scorned... Good story and strong start to this series. I liked the use of different backgrounds. Nice work with the VO's by all the cast. Strong editing. My only critique would be that a few scenes seemed to long. Overall very good! Look forward to part-2. Continued success. »
«Nice work. I loved the opening titles.
The story seems to be good and well written.
A few things I saw (heard) that bothered me though. At about the 9 minute mark in the corridor, the guy with the camo headscarf sounded like he had a helmet on with the shield down when he talked. And near the end when the guys in trenchcoats were talking, one had a wierd computer voice.
Aside from the couple sound problems, I liked it.»
«First let me say; WOOT!! I got a Cauldron Born!!!!
Second; Thunderbolt at point blank range is so not fair!
Now for the critique:
Your use of backdrops and camera angles was real good, nearly seamless. The scale of the backdrops was also real good, and that can be difficult to do. (Hell I still have not gotten it right)
I liked the use of the chopper cockpit for the Mech cockpit but I think you could have changed the angle in that some, not always the 3/4 Low angle.
I also believe you should have introduced your Sunder with an external shot or 2 but the action sequences were great and the VO superb.
Set textures looked original and that is always good.
My only negative is the narrative of the female Khan. It was just a bit long and almost too detailed.
