Dead Time Episode 5
«Great work Gary.
«I love ghost stories. Little girl pulls heads off all her dolls and pet cat, floating apparitions, killer dog, what’s not to like? I was fine with the animation and the music. Female vo were good overall and great camera work. Some male voices are difficult to understand due to the heavy southern accents, but I noticed a license plate said Arkansas (nice touch by the way). It did add to the realism of being in the deep South. I have not watched episodes 1-4, but I will after watching 5. Look forward to more.»
«This has a great look to it, and it's well written, but I disagree with Ben about song choice. I think the over all sound design was very good, but didn't care for some of the songs, and agree that some of the voices were inaudible.
I really enjoyed the dialogue, and the acting the most. »
«I admit, I haven't seen any of the other episodes yet, but after this excellent installment I will be sure to watch the others. Excellent camerawork and atmosphere, the beginning sequence especially hit me with the black and white lighting. Framing was fantastic, you really effectively led the audience by showing just enough to leave the rest to imagination; now that is skilled film-making! Especially that sequence in the barn with the ghosts and the dog. The ending was tense and pulled off really well (the merry-go-round bit made me laugh because of that guy's offhanded remark about the speed... the gruesome accident afterward was perfect). This is the first Sims movie I saw, and overall I thought it was used well. The gestures were over-exaggerated at times, but for the most times they were appropriate, although the facial animations threw me off. Music fit like a glove. Overall, this was a top-notch spook story, and I look forward to the next episode! (I will also watch the previous episodes, of course)»
«I'm loving the sound design and the camera work in this. I heard Sims machinima is quite a challenge to make. Though I have to say some voices are hard to hear sometimes, some due to mic quality. I feel like the music fits right in and the atmosphere works with the ambient noises. »
«Thanks K4 I can always count on you for a well thought out comment! Wish there were more members like you and Chris along with others at this Great site but sadly new members are almost completely ignored which makes them hard to retain!
Everyone I've recruited to here has left disappointed! Someone needs to seriously throw down the WELCOME mat lol I remember when I suggested that people get more involved, should watch and comment on new members in the the forums One member went as far as to say I should make better movies lol (Without ever seeing one of them) You came to my defense lol !but administrators explained to me that people simply don't have the time to watch bad films! How do do you know what's bad if you don't push PLAY (if it's BAD lol there's no rule that say's you have to watch the whole damn thing) I was treated Great and enjoyed my time here but my friends were ignored!
New members need to be treated as valuable assets and not just potential viewers of core members films! Get Involved This is not a Corporation where you don't have to care about the worker bee's It's a community and without core members who care it will die just like sims99 (20,000 members and it died!) its sad too this site has one of the best models for success ! I for one hope it succeeds!
«You have a number who are responsible, diligent, and considerate who will leave a comment.... although once again, I would suggest you take note of the number of views as that equates to a ticket sale. I would encourage those who upload movies to also review and to comment on other's work. I do appreciate the creative efforts of each and every person 'participating' at TMU. ------ Now, as for your movie, what impressed me most was how expertly you handled the camera! You gave us nice angles, framing, and timing! It was a pleasure to be visually taken along in this picture. I want to especially mention the sound design and sound editing..... Omigosh! What a beautiful job! The layers of sound to create ambiance was superbe! You get a standing ovation for that! Lastly, it was so good to see a movie made with the SIMs. It was like ice cream on apple pie. ~ K4»
