«Excellent work so far. Love the look and score. »
APOCALYPSE WARRIORS - Chapter 1
«Great style! The visual, the music, the dialogue all work well together to serve the story. This is a well-built machine. If I try to find a way to give some construct criticisms (because that's what I'm trying out this spring), I wonder if this could have been even tighter. One of most difficult things to do in story-telling...
«**** - First off, best intro sequence I've seen in a long time. It looked like a pre-edited batch of clips but the block letter credits on top of them was just awesome. Jealous. Next, the use of multiple engines worked out great. The settings looked visceral and very post-apocalyptic. Setting up the story was nice though I found myself looking at the side credits to figure out what the characters' names were. I've always wanted to use the song "Millionaire" for some kind of drive sequence in a movie and you beat me to it! Great song choice! The costumes for warriors, however, were a little too humorous. I mean the hair for Gunman kinda took the badassity of his name and toned down to a gentle 5/10. Some of the voice-acting was a little shoddy, like Benji's exaggeration at the end of words and Uber was a bit unconvincing at points. The use of green screen was excellent, and the set choices (from other game engines) made a perfect atmosphere. This has me curious to see what happens next and it was very well-made. Big thumb up Bezzer!»
«I sat down to watch Chapter One tonight, but found myself so intrigued that I went on to Chapter 2 without delay! The opening credits were so very professional, that you could just tell the whole thing was going to be well done (or so I hoped!) And so far, it has lived up to that expectation.
If the opening credits didn't give me an idea of what was to come, then the rather brutal slaying of innocents early on quickly brought me up to speed. Shocking, but effective. I like a film that doesn't pull punches. And then with it, the story started to unfold. Post apocalypse rebuilding kind of thing. An interesting idea.
Jumping ahead many years in the story was also interesting, though I noticed that old Mortimer seemed very much like his 20 year younger self, and even doing the same job (or so it appeared to me... he may have had a change of rank). But I'm getting ahead of myself. I got a small chuckle when the "Project Lobotomy" was named. It's probably just me, but I found the name a bit comical. But hey...
I don't want to go through the film point by point, but I'd like to mention the things I liked: the colour desaturation, for one. Gave the film that "other world" kind of vibe, which works well for this type of film. I also enjoyed your use of multiple engines. Most effective! And very well integrated into one another (the diner/bar scene particularly). Flawless. And let's not forget the dialogue. Some people go the cliche route (Hollywood in particular), but you seemed to have steered clear of that, and I thank you. Nothing worse than knowing what the next line is going to be before it's spoken!
I want to also point out Mortimer again, this time his voice acting. I don't know who it was, but I really enjoyed it. While it seemed a little over the top in that very first line, it really worked for me in his reappearance in Chapter 2. Love it!
One thing I didn't like were the cheesy costumes of these "warriors". You know, the spiky hair and Mohawks, etc. Looked like Mad Max was running in the background while you put them together. Personal taste, I guess.
Anyway, this is one of those films (both parts) that you really can only nit pick at it, as it is so very well done that only minor flaws can be seen.
Another thing is that it went by so quick! Always a good sign with any film when the film flies past with you looking at the clock, wondering when it will end.
One last thing: the music. It worked extremely well with the visuals and the story. Very well done. Good choices.
I'm sorry I didn't watch these films sooner, but rest assure I won't make that mistake with the future Chapters!
Great job! »
«That was incredible! It was like nothing I've ever seen before made with The Movies. This is definitely one of the most visually stunning movies I've seen, and the music and sound effects were perfect. I loved the story you've set up so far and I can't wait to see what happens next. Oh and Goofparade was perfect as the President. »
«Nice Films i really love the beginning and how the story went, but coming on to the end, it's kind of ya know, lost my excitement, was still good though. 4 1/2 Stars from me, since i cant give 1/2 star here is a Full star.
waiting for the next Part of this film.
NOTE: you have done really great using The Movies Game here, it didn't look like it was made from the movies, awesome work there.»
«Not bad at all. Technically it's nigh-flawless, one of the best looking movies I've seen on the site, and the sound work is bang-up too. The film's a little exposition-heavy, but then again this is Chapter 1 so maybe we'll get more action and character later. But it is a very good start.»
«I have to say, in all honesty, that you really did a bang-up job with this one. The opening sequence itself made me believe I was watching an actually Hollywood film--commendable work with the music, and professional editing. The look of this movie is splendid, with an overall sepia tone and delapidated sets with the occassional dust blowing across the desolate vistas. Your voice performers did a wonderful job, if I do say so myself, and I have to agree with Goofparade about your perfect use of music. This is a great package you put together and I'm truly looking forward to the rest of this tale.»
«This was an awesome film Bezzer, I just cannot wait for the next part of this! And the end music reminds me of Lacquer Head by Primus a little bit. Anyway great film, and I still need to get a mic and maybe I can take part in the next instalment in the series.
5 Stars, I would give you more if I could. But I can't, and now I'm depressed. »
«A beautiful looking movie. I love the post-apocalypse theme and atmosphere. The concept is a good one and promises a lot of development in the story and characters - looking forward to seeing the next instalment.
There were a couple of detractors for me, though, and one of them was the high reliance on stock scene footage of a static nature (the President's threatening stance, for one; the apprehending of the good samaritan another, for example). They tend to dominate the story in those scenes and end up coming off melodramatically... I would have liked to have watched a tighter script with less exposition, but that's the problem with an opener that needs to set the scene.
Regardless, it's a very interesting movie that is a delight to watch, and I'll keep watching.»
«Great stuff Bezzer
this flick gives off the great vibe of powerful images and damn coolness.
A lot of the scenes reminded me of some great movies. Very cool Bezzer.
Tommy Vercetti looks like he took that pill sitting at that table.
great direction, acting and badass music choices
I cant beleive you cut my character out of the final cut..... Every post apocolyptic flick needs a midget road kill scraper/raper
blood test have proven Bob Barker is my uncle btw»
«Beautiful piece of work Bezzer. This is a great start to a serieds. Brilliant use of mods and effects. the Story was paced perfectly and left me wanting more! Thankfully there is more time come
The Voice actors did an amazing job aswell helping to bring this tale to life.»
«Fantastic! Enjoyable from start to finish. 14 minutes flew by and I wanted more.
Everything was great, the story, the acting, sounds and music, camera shots, set dressing and editing. So much attention to detail. The only bad thing is waiting for part 2.
Great Job Bezzer!»
"'Bob's your Uncle' - an old British expression - I never did understand it myself ..."
I thought some of the acting in this was terrible - butI couldn't give it less than full marks because of the premise, the stylish cinematography (that washed out gold thing) and the great props.
Main gripe was the jarring frame rate between mediums - so you have The Movies footage at 10 frames per second, and then Moviestorm at 50 frames per second. Just a technical thing there.
Anyway, this film made me want to see the next bit. That's a five there and then.»
«Whooah!! Too Cool for Skool! Excellent stuff Bezzer!

«Outstanding! Nice characters, music and awesome voice acting. What games you used for this part? I realized The Movies & Moviestorm! Maybe S.T.A.L.K.E.R & Fallout 3 too!?!? And who was the guy with the sunglasses at the begin? Was it the "Gunman" (UBER)? Your voice is amazing!!! Who the f..k is David Hayter? You have nearly the same voice like The BIG BOSS. Great! Someone should do a "Metal Gear Solid" - Machinima and you speak Snake! And thank you BEZZER for giving honor to Fraasmovies. He´s from germany...like me. 5*»
