«Well I missed this when it was released, needless to say...but I did any way. I loved the staging of this. In fact it was more like a horror diorama slide show of sorts then a puppet show and that made it all the better in my opinion. The poems were great if not always in perfect meter. But who's going to argue with an insane poet? Actually, maybe someone did :-). I loved it and watched it twice back to back. Once to enjoy and once with a eye to the production aspects. iClone has some really neat capabilities. »
The Poetry Minute
«I'm amazed that I missed this release. (I must have been a little preoccupied with my own film at the time. Sorry about that.) But now I'm better off for I have seen Tan Julius' Poetry Minute! Yay! And what a unique film this is!
A simple set up, with a single narrator (and puppeteer) doing all the work. Yet less is more, as they say. The puppets made the show, of course, mixed with the horrific serial killer verse, it really did make for a unique experience. One that I enjoyed a lot. The poetry was good, but it was the "slide puppets" (or whatever the correct name is for them) that stole (and made) the show. Clever idea.
My only minor quibble was in the animation of the hands of the puppeteer when they appeared to pass through the handles of the puppets and tabletop. Not hard to fix...
Not much else I can say about this, other than Bravo on a quick and effective movie!»
