«That was absolutely great! With all the makings of an epic, visually-sumptuous fantasy war movie, and a lovely Nukester score to boot, I was all set to be dazzled and amazed, only to have the rug pulled out under me at the end. And what a clever ending! Watched it twice so I can experience that rug-pulling again. Wasn't sure where those giant sets were from, but i found out pretty quick, LOL. Great acting by a talented cast as well, and great visual work. Three thumbs up!!!»
Small Acts of War
«Dulci, I so sorry it took me so long to get to this film!
First, you certainly have a taste for camera angles, your story telling, and of course your excellent voice-acting. I was a little confused at the end, I mean, it looked as if the girl summoned the huge foot but then again maybe not.
Either way, It was good fun. Nuke did a fantastic job on the score. »
«That was a great fantasy short (in more ways than one). I loved the costumes and performances, and a special nod to Nukester's absolutely captivating soundtrack. I don't want to give anything away, but I always appreciate after-credit surprises. I'll have to watch this one again!»
«First off that was really pleasing audio wise with Nuke's soundtrack and some excellent sound design right down to the creaky floor boards. I really liked the gender assumptions being turned upside down in a film with "War"in the title featuring only female VA's, all of whom turned in solid performances. I'm going to avoid saying anything specific about the plot except I loved it and it was really quite clever. »
«That was unexpected, lol! Nicely done! I thought the scaling was a mistake in the house but it took me a second view to notice the scaling difference started from the bridge. And of course, now the pun in the title becomes clear! Nice soundtrack as well and the bit at the end was cute.»
«OK that wasn't exactly what i had expected ..it was funnier!
I love shorts, um... short films with a punchline and you had that going for it in spades.
Lovely voice work, very well put together music from Nukester and excellent work finessing the Clone.
Good luck in the competition.
«Ooh, women. They can be so bitchy at times, can't they? I mean, they're worse than men, for goodness sake.
Just look where their fighting got them. Thats right, an ending which I didn't see coming (and, obviously, neither did they).
I will admit that I didn't really have a clue what was going on and was wondering if I should be taking sides or what I should be doing.
In the end I decided to keep my nose out (very wise where women are concerned, especially very tiny ones wielding swords) and listen to the excellent music. Not only was the music of very high quality, but so were the VOs.
So, you're probably thinking (apart from what the heck is he going on about), did I enjoy that? Well, yes, I enjoyed it very much. Like I said, I'm not sure I understood it (well, I probably did but my brain hasn't kicked in yet), but I liked it a lot and that's all that matters.
«Wowie - like revisiting The Borrowers if the borrowers were hot chicks in metal bikinis...which hey, is every boy's fantasy anyway....
Fun flick, great performances by your cast and your bad self, solid animation work, and an ending that I didn't see coming. Good luck in the competition!»
«Dulci........ It was an adventure that suddenly cause me to say, "What da heck!!??" Loved the characters and would like to see an epic film with them! Nukester... WOW! I'd love a copy of the score! Dutchess.. the costuming was great! Loved the castle, Dulci! VO's were clear. A surprise for all who watch!
«I guess the title really said it all :-)
I loved your use of facial expressions with iClone. It really gave it an edge, particularly for some of the key moments of the film. Shanai's irritation at the start was one of my favourites along with her shock discovery ;-)
It was a pleasure being a small part of this and I wish you all the best for the competition!»
