Description:
The first episode in my Ring of Time Series based on a series of scifi/fantasy novels I wrote. I filmed the scenes in Moviestorm, iClone scene by Peter Martin, Music by Jesse Pringle, and Sound Mixing by Ricky Grove. I hope you enjoy it, please leave comments if you have time. Thank you!
«An entertaining part 1. My only real qualm is in the lack of much scripted response/sorrow/bewilderment by both kids at their predicament and their parents apparent (though not particularly clear) deaths. As said below, the actors did a noticeably good job.»
«A few glitches with the credits and such. The sound design is quite and the voices are leveled right. The cast was quite good and the score was excellent. The cinematography is quite good.
Well done»
«That was an enjoyable opening to the series! I look forward to seeing how the story progresses. Good job to all involved! (One minor criticism: typos in the end credits... "Music" or "Muisc"... makes it look like you rushed it a bit, or don't care - which I'm sure is not the case).
Nice! Hurry up with part ii!»
«FAN-FECKING-TASTIC!
Ok, to get it out the way, yes this may have seemed similar to the opening scenes of Harry Potter, but that doesnt negate the fact, it carrier more substance.
From the voice acting, to the SFX, the score, and so forth, this is by far one of the few MS fantasy films Ive seen that has pulled it off (so far, and despite the inclusion of other engines) and keep it going.
The collaborative effort on this project is also excellent, from Jesse's score, to Mike's GFX and so on. Wonderful job all around.

«Very good effort Shirley, what a great way to start a series. The episode is shot very well, well acted and another great job with the score by Jessie Pringle. Cant wait to see the next installment keep it up Shirley.»

It is finally here, the first of many of Ring of Time. I got to say this, and I truly mean it, this does not disappoint at all. My expectations seemed to get to the point where it would be real hard to surpass, but miss Shirley Martin did that. Everything from the special effects to score to acting to the directing, everything seems spot on. Shirley Martin has a very nice visual eye. She knows how to film a scene and add in the special effects later to make the movie flow well. When it comes down to moviestorm, there will always be limitations, and this movie would be a nightmare to film in moviestorm because of all the fantasy it involves. But according to Shirley, it only took her approximately 3 weeks to film this, which just seems unreal! Another thing, which I loved, was the acting. One person who really stood out, for me, was RandomDCE. He delivered his lines spot on, with the right emotion. He was very believable for me. Something else, among with many things, that I liked, was the casting, which was done by the great Kinte. Kinte seems to know many people among the internet, grabbing people from all around Machinima. He has a kene sense for talent. Every person in the first episode delivered. Matt Kelland, to thow another name out, was great, even when he had just a few lines. Shirley said she thought he would be a good father figure for the movie, and she was right! He fit the role. This isn a near perfect movie. This is like the Harry Potter for Machinima. It begins with the same time of story. The story was also good. It had a great tension to it, and flowed well. It is hard to adapt a movie from a book, because you would have to put the more important scenes in, whereas in this series, almost everything is important, and Shirley was smart to make it into a series. I read her book a while back, when she first was going to make the movie, and it was really well written with a lot of being on the edger of your seat. She knows how to add suspense into both her movies and her books. I am really look forward to the second episode, because I know this will be a terrific series. A»
