The Man from Schenectady Trailer # 2
«Im really not sure why this went farther than the first 40 seconds. But it did and suffered for it. Not that the the first 40 was spot on but it was a coherant trailer. The rest was not. Felt like more time was spent deciding on the copyright status of the film than on editing.
«it's like watching pure joy
looks more awesome than watching a double header of midget wrestling and animals fucking.
I really cant wait for this triumph of free cinema
everyone knows the statue of liberty if floating above the surface of the water.. due to methane produced by the pile of bloating corpses thrown into the water each year.»
«I'm sorry, but this doesn't sell for me.
There is a lot of editing errors, poor animation, and more jump cuts than Jean-Luc Godard's 'Breathless.' The choice in music was fine and some of the voiceovers were ok to good, but it just seems like a half assed editing and visual job. In the New York shot, Liberty Island is floating, you can tell by the drop shadow below it.
I'm sure the story is a fun case of mistaken identity amongst government agents and some sort of evil James Bond like villains, but what I see from this trailer is not impressing me; it's actually to a point where it's embarrassing for the director to showcase. If I was the director, I refilm, edit it until the product has little to none of these errors. This sounds harsh, but when there are so many errors, without the director taking the time to fix these obvious errors, this critique is more of a wake up call. »
