«Oh, I thought I'd left a comment on this before.. Well, despite the absense of freecam, mods, greenscreening, outside editing, etc, this film still ranks in my top ten favourite machinima films of all time. The voice acting is terrific, the music fantastically composed, truly haunting, the direction superb even with the limitations of the game and the writing just breathtaking.
A beautiful tale wonderully told. A timeless classic.»
«This is a great video! I had saw it first on Youtube, and it still great! :-) A wonderful example of how Science Fiction isn't about gadgets and aliens (as a lot of people that I know thinks unfortunaly) but about the human soul in next situations. Congratulations!»
«I guess I'm the first person to comment having seen Sisch's version first and then viewed the original. They are both great pieces of art on their own merits. This one has a "classic" feel to it along the lines of watching an old 50's movie. It was ahead of it's time in the quality and thoughfulness of the script. Lizard's performance was great (as was GP's subsequent portrayal). There were some VO quality issues and I chuckled a little to myself when I saw the shadow in the corner of the intro text backdrop as it brought back memories. In the end the script is what makes this such a wonderful movie and we now have two versions to enjoy. »
«Just saw Sisch's terrific remake and had to re-watch this original classic. It still delivers on all fronts and it's writing speaks volumes. I sincerley hope we'll be able to see another chatNoir studio production one day.. until then
«Exquisite examination of what makes us human... and what makes us individual.
Underplayed perfectly and excellently shot, even taking into consideration this was all done before S&E came along.
Can't agree with the preceeding comments more; this is a beautifully crafted movie that shows that a strong story can transcend the technical boundaries forced upon you at the time... and the greatest testament is that it still stands firmly on its own two feet, head and shoulders above a lot of more recent tales, even today. Truly wonderful.»
«Outstanding. Absolutely outstanding. I can't believe I'd never seen this before. I swear: this is a masterclass in what's possible. Pre S & E, pre mods, pre outside editing. Yet moved me more than I can describe.
If it were up to me, I'd force people to watch this and learn the arts of writing and scoring, and the crafts of direction and editing.
Thank you so much for uploading this Kate. I love this film so much!»
«Oh I'm so glad you uploaded The Afflicted! It was the first movie of yours I watched, and it made me an instant fan of your work. Your stories have always fascinated me!»
