Description:
After my pc crashed for the second time while making Dead Time eps. 4 I decided to take a break and make this! It's kind of a prelude to my next project My Fathers Son! A story about two generations of War Heroes! Don't worry Dead Time is not Dead lol just set back little!
«Very good work!»
«There is some cool atmosphère in your machinima.»
«Well directed and edited, nice work with compositing and a great job singing the song.
I like the mix of The Movies and The Sims. I loved the camerawork, it really depicted the emotion quiet well. It's good to see you put the time and effort into your work.
Can't wait for the movie to come out.
Norrie, I don't like the fact that Neil Young is Canadian either!
I tried to have him deported on multiple occasions.
Loverboy all the way!»
«Very well put together. I liked the way that you were able to combine elements from both The Sims and The Movies to do this project.
The song tells a story and I think you have captured that story very well. I am looking forward to seeing the finished film.»
«Terrific teaser/trailer! I'm not into war films, but this one caught my interest. The music was great as well, but it drowned out the earlier voice overs so much that I wasn't even sure anyone was speaking. I suggest lowering the volume of the song just as the actors begin to speak, and then raising it up again after the conversation is done. The two animation engines worked well together here--sometimes the differences are so drastically different that it jars the viewers, but you handled that problem beautifully. I'll definitely stay tuned to your future works.»
«I've watched it on YT ome days ago and the second time is still great
I'm not very fond of war movies but, I don't know why, I really enjoy some of them and I enjoy yours. By mixing 2 games, you bring a new thing to the Sims.
And you're a great singer, but this time, I knew it was you, eh eh !
Good luck for your project.

«really well done. I enjoyed the song. Made me quite sad though. »
«Taking on Neil Young is a tough task indeed.
Good job!
Great to see a Sims/TM mix – worked well I thought.
Still not sure if it was a music vid or a trailer though. Maybe I was too caught up in the song? (Big Neil Young fan here... even though he's Canadian)»
«Really nice job on this. Great job on the song, and it fit in with the movie perfectly. The editing and camera work were both great as well. I look forward to seeing the real thing. »
«Wow! very cool look to this video and very fitting too.
Did i just read that was your singing "old man"? I am impressed.
Great work»
«Gary, I love war type movies so I really enjoyed this preview of things to come! Loved the helicopter effect as well.

«Nice work. Enjoyed this.»
«Funny, I've seen this before and I thought I left a comment lol hmm... ^^

Anyway, that was a really nice little movie with great visuals and camera use!
With a cool song, too!
Great job!

«I like the muted color scheme you chose. I think the dialogue was unnecessary - but, if it was going to be used, some adjustments to the music level at those moments is needed.
Very nice singing! »
«Wow, amazing work Gary! The greenscreening was flawless, absolutely brilliant. Loved the music track too, great singing. The camerawork was fantastic, as were the visual effects you applied. Editing was perfect, I really enjoyed that. I'm looking forward to seeing the final film. Well done
***** - 5 stars»
«That looked great!
Awesome editing, Gary.
That backdrop thing was really cool.
Love that song.»
«Watching critically, heres my unedited thoughts.
The first line of dialogue is lost (and probably unnecessary anyway..as was all dialog here..imo) under the music.
The singing was a good rendition once I realized it was you, but a little jarring to find that out only when you missed a high note and called a bit of attention to yourself. And then I found myself wondering why it was a karaoke version (ok because it was fun and you wanted to...fair enough but it wasnt advertised up front and left me a bit askew at that moment) instead of the original.
Loved the exterior house shots. Well shot, well composed. Copter and war shots were a bit herky jerky but the soundwork made the rescue there. Camera work was very good on the whole. Visuals were the strong point here.
A bit hard to tie the father and son both in the war bit from this (and I didnt realize it was atrailer till the end..figured it for a music video type of thing..which could have been clearer either in the description or up front with titles..help us drunk folk out)
End Credits looked like a 1980s video game and left me with a bad last taste and could have been easily remedied.
Overall, it was worth the time spent watching. Some very nice highs and some easily fixable lows in my take.»
«WOW!!!!! That was a rea; treat to watch! And then when I saw that Gary sang the song I was just bowled over! Stupendous! One critique, Gary.... watch your rules of writing regarding titles. Sorry.. it is the school teacher in me. The Father's Son . Other than that, I loved this trailer and will now treat myself to it again. Fantastic job!!!!!

«Awesome stuff Gary! Very well done, and it looks like it'll be a good story...looking forward to seeing it!
»
....and once again you surprise me! I thought for sure that was the original song, and it was you! I had to listen to it again, and I think you actually sing it better then Neil Young
«That was really good, loved the song, great stuff!»
«Great trailer Gary nice green screen work.
Also nice job on the song can't wait to see the movie.»
«Looks very good, gary! I really like the song!»
«Great job! Can't wait for the whole thing!
