«What a beautiful, moving sci-fi horror. The acting, the directing, the editing, the use of music and the pacing were all superb. Perfect 5/5 »
«What a thought provoking sci-fi art. From the get go I was curious to find out what was going on and was quite pleased in the direction it took.
After is a haunting piece no doubt. There is little to be happy about at the end but I guess that is the nature of the story. I loved your use of blurring, which allowed the viewer to focus on Abbe and his psyche. In a lot of ways, his backgrounds and surroundings didn't matter. It was all about his mind and his paranoia.
Props to the voicing cast who did a darn good job. Special nods to Orky and Bella, who carry off the lead roles well. It's a shame about the Mac bug for lip syncing but you can also get a program to install Windows XP on there, allowing you to use TM as it should be.
Your artistic direction was unique, the imagery was fresh and the outcome was pleasing. Well done on this distinctive film and I look forward to seeing what more you have for us...
Until then... Nuke Well in the Mind»
«Solid performances by the whole cast, very well done both story wise and technically, although the lipsynch issue was a bit troublesome for me. Cool looking effects and clever use of modds , different platforms and images. A 18+ warning would have been apropos in this case. Overall one very good ''cerebral'' sci-fi movie , right there with Saving Grace.»
«'This isn't your choice Captain, it's an order'
A good story about what the mind goes through when confronted with the unknown.
The hologram and other special effects looked pretty cool.
The cast was good and the voiceovers were done nicely.
Good use of mods.
There was a major problem with lipsynch. Sometimes it wasn't there at all and other times it was off. Was a bit of a distraction.
I don't have a problem with nudity but there should have been a warning of the movie page stating nudity would be present or a film rating at the beginning to let us know it was possible.
A very good film with a couple flaws that brought the quality down a bit.»
«Stunning work Alex. Excellent use of chromakeying and depth of field, which was done pretty much perfectly. The haunting music was very good and fitted the scenes brilliantly. Bella's performance as always was staggeringly good, very detached and haunting, especially towards the end. Orky also ramped it up a notch at the end as he began to go insane, brilliant acting by both the lead actors. The camerawork was excellent throughout and you had some very nice subtle effects which were added in seamlessly and didn't draw attention to themselves. I agree with Ethan about the cutting to black at the end, that was a bit strange I thought. Was it supposed to be a flickering light or something else? I also thought the custom face you used for Orky's character, though very inventive, was a little strange looking and expressionless, and the fact that none of the actors seemed to lip-synch didn't help that. However, as I said, there was no problem in conveying the emotion because of the great acting on show. The story itself, though slightly confusing, was very well told. Some great dialogue which came across as very haunting and spooky. I don't think I've seen anything quite like this on TMU, but it's a welcome addition to my favourites. Intelligent sci fi is always hard to achieve, and this was right up my street
