«Dulci, I am not a fan of remakes. But in this case.... you picked up the bat hit it out of the park. (oh...no pun intended!) I loved it! »
The Lounge Singer 2009
«Great movie. There was a kind of sinister tension throughout - I think it may have come from the timing in the dialogue - which help the movie build in a really effective way. This is the first iClone movie I've ever watched (I think), so it was good to see what is actually possible. I'm going to check out your other stuff now...»
«I've just discover IClone with your movie. I knew it exist, but I haven't seen any movie done with it. And that's not so bad! Maybe the actor movement are a little "hard" but, that's all.
Now, about the movie, that was very good! The rythm was fantastic, I loved the fact you cut every scene by a song.
The song were very well performed, congratulations about that!
I haven't seen any bad opint to speak about, so congratulation for all the movie! »
«Where do I start? In my opinion, the original is an all time classic that will never lose it's appeal. At least not to me, anyway. When I saw that you were doing a remake, I have to admit I was a bit sceptical. Not because I thought you wouldn't make a good job of it (who am I kidding), but because, for me, remakes don't usually work.
Yeah, okay. Who am I kidding? This is a superb remake with much to recommend it, although it's not without it's flaws.
I really liked the soundtrack, your vocals gave an authenticity to the movie that you, perhaps, wouldn't have had if you'd used an original recording.
I also have to say that the end credits were absolutely fantastic and the other cast members played their parts extremely well.
Now, whilst there's no arguing with the overall excellence of The Lounge Singer 2009, I do have one or two quibbles (I would have to spoil it, wouldn't I?).
First, the dancing at the start seems a bit too over the top to me. Having never used iClone, I may be being unfair here, but I can only comment on what I see.
Second, some of your speaking parts were a little hard to hear compared to the other actors. That's how it seemed to me, anyway.
Third, whilst the original was perfect for it's length, this seems slightly rushed and unfinished, as if you got fed up making it and released it, anyway. I know that's probably a daft thing to say considering this is about three times the length of the original and is a more rounded film. But I can't help the feeling that you could have made this even better. Perhaps I'm being unfair here.
Anyway, my criticisms above in no way stop me from recommending this fantastic piece of work.»
«This is only the second iClone film that I've watched and I must say that I'm getting more and more impressed with it's capabilities.
I admit that I've never seen the original, but if it was anything like this, then I'm sure it was just as great. Excellent voice acting, singing, and directing. However, I'm more impressed by the art direction. I loved the warm colors as they accented Lola's character quite nicely.
«As a big fan of the original, I have to say that this was a worthy remake - like the original, it has some great moments, made better with the ability to really get the movement and expressions you wanted.
Add in a collection of Dulci's Greatest Hits on the soundtrack (ooh-la-la) and it was divine.»
This drama is a gratifying peek into your psyche and it reveals your generous nature. The visuals are entirely engaging and so are the distinct personalities of the characters. I can see "The Lounge" as an ongoing vehicle for more characters and more dramas and mysteries to come and I hope you continue to do so.
I felt that the lip movements of the main character were a smidgen overemphasized. They may be true to real life movements, but , for me, seemed somewhat too much out of context with the rest of the animations which were nicely understated. I felt the same for her rhythmic motion while she was singing. To be clear, it is good that these qualities should be somewhat more emphasized- after all she is the hero and should stand out- but just a dab here and there is all that is necessary.
Your singing is a wonderful and delightful sharing. Your characters are engaging. The timing of the complications and revelations of the plot have a lovely rhythm.
This drama provides more than just the ten minutes of entertainment because the feelings that it generates linger on...
Thank you for your inspiring work,
«Great to see your imagining turn out exemplary on iclone3. The visuals were just breathtaking. It's actually the nicest looking iclone movie I have yet seen, I'm not sure if its a combination of the smooth resolution against some wonderful lighting but it was just.... (oh oh oh i know) .. Dulcilicious!
The touches of outside editting were neat and appropriate and only further enhanced veiwing for me. They weren't overbearing, which can sometimes ruin a film.
Fine VO and Vocals once again to seal off a classic film. You seem to have iclone pretty nailed down and although tm is my preferred engine, I am loving films like 'Saving Grace' , 'Coming Home' and now this from yourself.
Nuketastic Work Dulci! ..now where can we download for keeps ? ;-) »
«After the long wait, it is finally upon us. The Lounge Singer 2009 is a breath of fresh air. It delivers us the rememberings of machinima past while lightly dusted with a new and personal touch. Very well delievered by all participants, mood sculpted by original recordings and a wonderful story. Label me a Dulci Fanboy. »
«A great little muiscal that I enjoyed very much. Nice casting, each member giving a solid performance and there is a lovely look to the whole film.
The faces were as expressive as was the voice acting.
I might have faded out "anyone else but" a little less abrubtly near the end.
«Not having seen the original...I liked the sleight of hand with your resolve. Figured you had it telegraphed and ... well.... Feel like I know that christian chap from somewhere. Maybe from work...hehe. Nice tie. Loved the christian pacing outside shot and the credits shot was excellent. Dancing animation was a little over the top for me but eh, what can you do. Music was very nice. Solid work. »
