Description: In response to observations made about the Machinima film The Gift ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tYF8DINz2A ) in which we used Thus Spak Zarathustra in the soundtrack (a key sound feature of Stanley Kubrick's seminal film 2001) that The Gift lacked a Monolith, and that both Kubrick and Elf were wrong in asserting that the cinema screen, and in this case the video screen, stand in for the monolith.... The point i wished to make is that the ratio of the physical object, the monolith (or screen) does not necessarily have any relationship to its power as an idea...
