«One of the best written movies on TMU. »
«A very good movie, I like very much the westerns. Your movie in big one aestheticism visually I found great. Well there is some decorate a little bit empty, in May it is not really grave, I not saw the past look at your movie. A big works bravo.
PS: the idea of the duels I believe that I had already seen that in a movie ^^.
Saddened for my poor English
«I've always had a soft spot for Westerns, and this is probably one of the best I've ever seen on TMU. You're a brilliant director Mac and it really showed in the cinematic style of that film. Everything fitted so well and, as others have said before me, at times you could forget you were watching a film made with the Movies it was that good.
You're continually pushing the boundaries of The Movies software and taking it to new heights.
«Deadly Bullet is up there with the best of the western films to ever grace TMO/U
From the get go, we are introduced into this dark, gritty town, not filled with promise or hope but with greed and intimidation.
Visually, it is a joy to watch but Audibly? even better. What worked was the subtle use of ambience for the atmosphere, the light wail of wind and the subdued bassy undertones really go far to immersing the viewer completely.
As I briefly touched upon the visuals, I will elaborate a little further. You managed to set the scene well, it didnt feel under or over dressed, it felt like it should have. Vast, Empty, often Dark and there was always a sense of looming danger.
I liked the twists and turns in the story and found your execution of the finale to be worthwhile. Your approach to the duel scenes were more dramatic than could have ever been. This was no quick fire done and dusted route.. It was done in a way that could build up tension and deliver at the right time.
I can clearly see that you have been very busy with productions and collaborations and I have to commend you on that. I only hope one day in the future I can have the priviledge of working with you on something.
But until the next time...
Nuke Well in Grit!!!»
« Excelent western, camera work and artistic work are EXCELENT!. BSO (Jesse James rules XD), in the correct position all over the film. The story (well...the story ive cought. im spanish >.< xD) was nice. Only thing ive to say, repeition of some shots, but not too much problem, cause the rest was, as i said, excelent. I have to say too, the voices are O.O. Good actors/actress. 5 stars.
I dont often comment movies...this is the first in fact xD, but i must say..is the best thing i've seen here (repeat, i've seen...i havent seen everything).»
«Welcome to the west "pilgrim" now get off your horse and drink your.............
Very good and excellent twist, I can see Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef facing each other over the tumbling weed blowing outside the saloon in the middle of Deadman's Gulch.
That has to be the fastest race to the "boneyard" I've ever seen...»
«In the very beginning part of this highly intriguing and wonderfully made film, the appropriate music from The Assassination of Jesse James immediately sets the tone as a bone-weary, highly dangerous and grim tale in a gritty, realistic western town. The intricate color scheme and attention to depth of field really fleshes out the well-constructed sets, emphasizing the shadows to make inferences to a place filled with dark, violent deeds of the past. The cast is so flawless that they become less as voice actors/actresses and more as their characters in every which way, elevating the well-written script to a fantastic commentary on the conundrum of violence. And what a great commentary it is: I find myself cursing the senseless, underhanded , evil actions of the notorious Mr. Law (voiced by a totally unrecognizable Josephkw), and both disapproving of the reckless choices made by the other contenders and yet rooting for their cause. Even if my familiarity of the TM movements hindered the impact of the film, it hardly mattered due to the utter conviction that the actors/actresses fill their parts. They were, in a word, flawless. Of course, your direction was also a huge success to the impact, and with your meticulous camera angles and carefully wrought editing, the tension of the film was perfectly played out and keyed up to a dazzling climax in the end. (All achieved with rather minimal dialog... impressive!) The green screening was, for the most part, effective, although there were some noticeable transparency glitches here and there. Furthermore, the sand effects can be a little distracting, and my attention was sometimes diverted to the constant fade in/fade out... this can't be helped, though, and it's totally small potatoes. Wonderful, wonderful stuff, Macwemyss and Kit, what a great achievement! Bravo!»
«First, the good point:
-A good story
-Incredible music!!! I loved it!
-Great movie making
-and so much other think like some little sfx like incrustation...
I really enjoyed this movie.
Now, on the bad part there minors default as the floor too high sometime and "eat" the foots of the actors. Or another one, was we can see the "end" of the set, I would appreciate to see a big desert behind the city, but we see the clouds...
Anyway that was really minor default. Ho! I loved the voice of the storyteller!!!!
Good job on this 5 stars»
«Fantasic! Gripping from the beginning until the last second!
Ok, some technical details here and there, like green/blue screen not always working.
But c'mon you did a brilliant job with this movie!
Great voice acting from everyone and great choice of music.
«I don't inderstand everything but the story remind me "The Quick and the Dead" by Sam Raimi, whith the tournament.
The Script is good. (sorry i don't find an eglish translation for "Le script est très bien ecrit et très maitrisé"^^)
Your screen play is very effective.
The perfomance of the cast is wondefull, congratulation everyone!
This movie is great.
«I liked it, not as much as I enjoyed Family Values, but still very good overall.
Although a visual success, the script was below-average, seemed a bit wooden and story was cliched. Didn't really deserve such good direction.
A triumph despite this. Well done to all those involved, great to see someone is still using the movies (well)
«thoroughly enjoyed this - love a good western - and mac you did an awesome job with this - - a greek tragedy of sorts -one minor nit is some of the characters can't stand still, in scenes where they are standing, there is that twirling motion - i guess inherent in the movies engine - but certainly not a showstopper - »
«Great job Mac sound design and music was perfect also agree with a lot of comments attention to detail and the visuals where excellent.
The script was based on The quick and the dead that Sam Ramie made but hay whats original any more.
Cast did a great job also EmeraldEdge who did a top job narrating the movie.
Bravo Mac another great movie.»
«A lot of care and detail went right into the visuals and the sound design, it definitely shows. You really did a good job with creating the bleak and hopeless atmosphere of Tombstone, Arizona. The performances were very well done, to be honest it was pretty difficult recording with the dialouge. Nick Cave and Warren Ellis' music fits the film very well. The sound design was very well done, especially with the creaking noise in the saloon.
The care and attention to the detail really shows.
Well done. »
«Did Emerald's performance make anyone else sit up? Very cool.
Ok, for me the big stand out is the pace. I love the way you took your time Mac. Fast enough to keep it interesting, but slow enough to soak in the drama. The editing style kept me captivated throughout.
The writing really threw me at times. I was expecting a little cheese from the premise of the movie, but I have to admit some of the dialog had me giggling at times.
The performances were fantastic, especially with some hard to swallow lines. Dulci especially had some shining moments for me. Again, EE's narration really stood out.
The score and sound were very noticeable. The music match the mood beautifully and the sound ambiance and effects were obviously paid much attention to.
It was great at the premiere and even better without the distraction of playing around in the chatroom. lol
Excellent work Mac. Sincerely.
«Terrible, terrible script. I mean, awful.
Really nicely made though, shit shone at times.
What struck me though, was what someone with your eye could do with Trewill's Deeds.
Lots here reminded me of it, visually not dialogue obviously.
I've always longed to see Deeds of Midnight finished – I think you could do it.
More to the point I think Tre might trust you with it.
No higher praise.»
«An enjoyable film. The story was different for a western (for me, anyway), and that was good. I felt the dialogue was a bit... overdone. It wasn't bad, but it seemed people were stating things that didn't really need to be said (the facts were obvious in other ways).
The movie also seemed a tad too drawn out. But it wasn't too bad.
VOs were all very good (considering the dialogue) and all suited their roles.
Music and sound design was spot on. Very much enjoyed that.
Visuals were pretty darn good throughout, though the occasional foot through the floor spoiled it a little, and the crowds of stony faced people in the same pose was a bit weird (would have worked once, but multiple shots of the same thing got a bit much.)
All in all, I enjoyed it. Well done to all.
«Powerful, stunning, awe inspiring, emotional..... I could go on all day. I'm glad I'm writing this as I watch the credits role by as I don't think the high I'm at now would be the same later. The visual feel of this film was stunning, the VAs superb and the story solid. Just brilliant.»
«Wonderful work Mac and Kit, you've worked together to make one of the best westerns on TMU. Sure, the plot wasn't original but that didn't bother me at all.
Some people have said that the voice acting was hit and miss, pay no attention to them, the acting in this was great and what a cast it was! Orky, JosephKW, Lizard, Dulci, Ben, EmeraldEdge, Mochan, Harb and so on... really great work in that department.
The cinematography was also wonderful along with the dark saturated colorings. As D.L. said, your films really do make us forget that we are watching an animated film and that is something to be proud of Mac. Overall a well made western which will definitely be up for some Ollies!
★★★★★ - 5 Stars
«This film was absolutely a pleasure to watch. You film in such a style and tone that you make your audience forget they are watching an animated film. The cinematography really stood out here, your careful precision to detail, the depth of field, the set direction - everything in this film is excellent.
My only complain is that I wish it was longer. lol. And a big applaud to the cast who did an equally good job in their performance.
Fantastic job! ***** Five Stars!»
«Very well written and directed. Kudos to Kit06 and Macwemyss for the great jobs they did.
The voice acting eas very good. The surrealistic feeling was executed superbly. The echo-type flashback/dream sequence was done very well.
I agree it may not be the best western to be put out using TM but it has to be in the top 3.
I never expected the outcome with Harrison to be the way it was. Surprised me.
Good job Kit, Mac and all the cast.»
«Couldn't say that I liked it, but I didn't hate it. Unlike Family Values, it wasn't original, and the story fell flat. The ambiance and production design is well-key. The voice acting to me was a hit-n-miss. It just doesn't come to that caliber set by the other known Westerns on here. I liked the premise of the whole story, but in the way it was told, it was kinda predictable, and left next to nothing of surprise to be had. A 3...out of 5.»
«A very haunting ambiance throughout this morbid competition which was very effective. The filters added a great feeling to as colors were hauntingly darker. I have to say BRAVO to ORKY for a natural delivery. EE made me nostalgic for Rio Diablo. Overall, a tense and entertaining Western. congrats to Mac and Kit! It certainly isn't a tumbleweed, but 5 silver bullets for sure! Well done!
«The cast has really worked their socks off, making the film a success. Kudos to the star-studded cast.
In my books Mac is the best director in the younger age gap TMU/TMO has had. The slight edits, camera shots, timing and sound effects used made Deadly Bullet a must see. Kudos to a great director with a lot of talent yet to be discovered.»
